I’ve spent my daylight hours over the past 20 years in the fast paced world of agency life. On the front-lines of marketing, mostly the digital side. Having been in the trenches for over 20 years, I can tell you that agency life isn’t easy. It’s exciting, evolving, challenging, fun, fulfilling, frustrating, stressful, and exhausting! I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients in many different industries.
I stepped away from agency life several years ago in favor of working one-on-one with a small selection of business executives and entrepreneurs to facilitate growth of their businesses. My approach is to develop effective marketing strategies that are aligned to their goals, budget, timeline and staff.
Marketing and technology are quite different professions. However, these two disciplines converge at the intersection of digital marketing. Dozens of questions I receive from clients each week, remind me that digital marketing can be confusing from the other side. I enjoy helping companies navigate through, what can often be, a very confusing landscape for the non-practitioner.
In order to be effective online, a business must tap into a wide variety of talents. I’ve had the good fortune to work with many very talented people with different skill sets over my tenure in this industry. I’ve seen what strategies make a positive impact and which ones detract from a successful outcome. I know the strategies needed for success.

Malinda Pengelly has over 25 years of experience bringing together Marketing and Technology disciplines to deliver results to the bottom line. She started and grew a successful, award-winning, mid-size digital marketing & technology agency in Greensboro, North Carolina.
After selling the agency, she began consulting one-one-one with business owners and executives and continues that today under the brand Lake Wind Consulting.
Malinda has received many professional accolades including Business Person of the Year, Small Business Advocate of the Year, Women in Business award, and finalist for Leader in Business Ethics. She has served on the board of A & T University’s Integrated Technology Department and Greensboro Chamber’s Technology Advisory Board. She is a professional speaker and serves as an expert witness in web and digital marketing related cases.
She received her B.S. degree in Engineering and Computer Science from Virginia Tech University and her M.B.A. from James Madison University.
